When it comes to real estate, there are a lot of unknown, uncontrollable variables. For example, sellers often must wait for potential buyers, mortgage approvals, and offers that meet their own needs. Both buyers and sellers deal with financial concerns and market elements that are out of

their control. These, combined with the stress associated with time constraints and relocation, can wreak havoc on the mental and emotional state of any individual. Big life changes, even when they are favorable, can be difficult.

A recent online survey revealed that more than three quarters of Americans say the experience of buying or selling a home was stressful for them (77 percent), which is just below the stress of going through a relationship breakup (78 percent) and greater than the stress of planning a wedding (60 percent), getting fired (58 percent), or teaching a teen to drive (53 percent).
